Nazi Germany and World War II

Monday, September 12, 2016 @ 3:00 pm - 5:00 pm

|Recurring Event (See all)

An event every week that begins at 3:00 pm on Monday, repeating until Monday, October 17, 2016

At the end of WWI, the nation of Germany was in horrible shape in many ways. Adolf Hitler used the turmoil taking place as a mechanism to rise in power and influence. By 1939, he was in firm control of Nazi Germany and began to execute his plan to extend the country’s territorial boundaries, exterminating all people he saw as either a burden or threat to the German Race. The class will explore the rise of Adolf Hitler, the Nazi Party, WWII and the Holocaust. Some emphasis will be given to the Asia Theater.

Dr. Dwayne Beggs earned a M.A. and a Ph.D. in U.S. Diplomatic/Military History from Bowling Green State University (BGSU). He has taught a Vietnam War class at BGSU for the past 3 years. He also holds an M. Div. and served as a Youth Pastor / Associate Pastor for 22 years. Tom Pilbeam majored in history at Michigan State University.
