Our Lady Queen of Peace

  • St. Clare of Assisi holds the Blessed Sacrament. Tradition holds that Clare met those who were about to plunder the city; as the enemy gazed upon the Eucharist, they retreated.
  • In the narthex, the travertine font reminds us of our baptismal call.
  • The congregation gathers for a festive celebration in Our Lady Queen of Peace Chapel.
  • The Queen of Peace window fills the sanctuary. Mary and Child are surrounded by choirs of musical angels in the style of Fra Angelico.
  • The San Damiano Crucifix, modeled after the cross that was significant in Francis’ conversion, was painted by Sister Ruth Marie using egg tempera on gessoed wood.
  • The windows along the east and west aisles proclaim the praises of God as sung in the Canticle of David.
