Sister’s ministry in education spanned 11 years teaching grades 1-8 in OH. She transitioned her service to the marginalized, becoming a licensed counseling psychologist, sociologist and chemical dependency counselor. Between 1983-1998, Sister served at Flower Hospital, Family Services of NWO, Horizon, Behavioral Health Connections, and, from 1998 -2018, at Monroe County Community Mental Health. Sister currently volunteers with the Campus Ministry Labre Project.
May Christ teach you what is yours to do: “Working with the mentally ill and addicted is comfortable for me,” Sister says, “for there I see the suffering Christ and the Franciscan message to console rather than be consoled. Looking inward, we all have our own ‘thorn in the side’ that needs our attention on a daily basis.”
