Meet Sister Theresa Darga, OSF

Ministries:
Sister taught first grade from 1966-1985 in OH, MI and MN. She transitioned to administration, serving in Toledo, Naperville, IL and, from 1989-2012, at St. Joseph School in Lake Orion, MI. Sister then answered the call to leadership, serving as Asst. Congregational Minister until 2021. She’s recently embarked in the ministry of Donor Prospect Research for Advancement.
Growing Pains. Sister adored teaching first grade, loved being the Principal and joyfully served as Asst. Cong. Minister. Changing from one to the next? That’s the part she could have done without. “I just had to trust Jeremiah 29:11,” she smiles, “I know the plans I have for you.” At St. Joseph, change is exactly what she brought, growing the school from 189 to almost 500 students. The Kindergarten waitlist was so long, parents began camping out all weekend to be the first in line. Sister fed them pizza, the media took their picture and the parish continued to grow, eventually adding a new addition to the school.
