Bridging the Racial Divide: Christian Perspectives

Thursday, June 6, 2019 @ 5:30 pm - 7:00 pm

This year’s Father Jim Bacik Lecture offers Christian perspectives on bridging the racial divide.

The lecture will examine the challenging issue of racism from various perspectives: the history of our “original sin” and its destructive legacy; the enduring contributions of Dr. Martin Luther King; the U.S. Bishops’ recent pastoral letter on racism, Open Wide Our Hearts; the controversial issue of white privilege; and the Christian vocation to overcome the injustice of institutional and systemic racism.

Tickets: $10 reserved; $15 at the door. To reserve tickets, you may leave your name and number of tickets requested at franciscanvillage@sistersosf.org or 419-824-3515. Tickets may also be purchased online at www.sylvaniafranciscanvillage.org.
