Solution to Gun Violence Found in U.S. History

Tuesday, March 12, 2019 @ 12:00 pm - 1:00 pm

Tuesday, March 12 @ Noon – 1 p.m.
Franciscan Center boardroom, 6832 Convent Blvd., Sylvania, Ohio

Guns weren’t always the contentious issue they are today in the U.S. Forty years ago, guns were primarily used for sport and recreation, and mass shootings were a rarity. Much has changed since then, and while there’s a lot of debate around how to put an end to gun violence, there has yet to be a solution that everyone can agree on. Gun safety advocate David Farrell thinks he has the answer, and takes participants through America’s history to get there.

The event is part of the spring schedule for TED Talks, sponsored by Sylvania Franciscan Village and Lourdes Lifelong Learning. A different program takes place the second Tuesday of each month.

TED Talks are compelling presentations that take place in 20 minutes or less. Group discussion follows the video presentation. TED Talks on Tuesday are free and open to all; no reservations needed. Cookies and coffee are provided. For more information, contact Dr. Laura Megeath at 419-824-3707 or email lifelong@lourdes.edu.
