Franciscan Gala celebrates 100 years of mission and ministries

The Franciscan Center was filled with people Saturday night honoring all the Sisters of St. Francis of Sylvania have done to fulfill their mission since coming to northwest Ohio in 1916. More than 300 attendees gathered September 24, at the Franciscan Center on the Motherhouse of the Sisters of St. Francis and the campus of Lourdes University to celebrate 100 years of compassion, care and community. Margaret (Peggy) Rabideau and Fred Brower received the St. Clare Award and Dolores (Dee) Resnick, received the St. Francis Award, for their unique and exemplary contributions to society and modeling Franciscan values in their everyday lives.

Sylvania Mayor Craig Stough and his wife, Barbara, were the honorary chairs for the Centennial Gala. The evening was filled with friends, fine food, dancing to the KGB Motown Band, live and silent auctions, all to honor the mission and ministries of the Sisters of St. Francis.
