Meet Sister Kathleen Casey, OSF
St. Paul, MN
1962
Ministries:
Sister spent nearly 30 years teaching, mainly grades 3 and 4, in OH, MI and MN. In 1992, she found ministry in the Twin Cities Diocese, where she served as substitute teacher, Librarian, Media Specialist, and computer teacher. From 2011-2018, Sister was the Librarian/Receptionist at St. Paul’s Monastery and, prior to COVID, provided Hospitality at Rosoto Villa.
A Big Heart: Sister taught her only first grade class in 1964-65 at Our Lady of Lourdes School in Toledo. She had 54 students. When Valentine’s Day rolled around, she determined that she would make sure that every child would send every other child a Valentine’s card – by doing it herself. (That’s 54×54: It took a little help from friends.) Sister’s generous spirit continues today as she works to gather clothing, food and staples monthly for the local poor, and, now, the newly arrived Afghan Refugees.
