Ministries:
Sister’s ministry in education began in 1955 teaching grades 2-8 in OH, MN and MI and became Principal in 1970, serving in New Brighton, MN and Toledo. She served in Toledo as a Pastoral Associate from 1989-1997, then served the Community as Rosary Care Center Administrator from 1997-2000, remaining at Rosary until 2007, first as Resident Services Director and then as Mission Director. From 2008-2018, Sister served at Catholic Eldercare in Minneapolis.
The Will of God will never lead you where the Grace of God will not keep you: When in HS, she was invited by the grade school principal to go shopping downtown Detroit. Later, they stepped into a corner dime store, slid onto the shiny counter stools and she was treated to a hamburger and fountain soda. “Did that influence my vocation to the Sylvania Franciscans?” Sister Myra asks. “Absolutely,” she laughs.
