Meet Sister Rebecca Rutkowski, OSF

Sister Rebecca Rutkowski
From:

Southgate, MI

First Profession:

1978

Ministries:

Sister’s early clerical service at Cardinal Stritch in 1977, Holy Cross Hospital in Detroit from 1978-1982, and St. John Medical Center in Steubenville until 1983 set the stage for a long administrative service. In 1985 she went to the Diocese of St. Augustine and served as Director of the Office of Aging Services until 1993, when she accepted a position in the Diocese of Biloxi. She ministered as Catholic Social and Community Services Ex. Director until 2002, when she became Chancellor and Ex. Director. She served until 2021, when she returned to the Motherhouse to serve as Congregational Treasurer.

“See everything; overlook a great deal; improve a little.” St. John XXIII This sums up Sisters philosophy in a nutshell. “I figure, forget the small stuff,” she says. “Throughout my day I try to get to the heart of the matter and find out what the real issue is. I do what is mine to do, look for gifts of graced encounters and hope that everything is a little better than it was before.
