Meet Sister M. Irenaeus Samsel, OSF
Sister’s lifelong ministry in education began in 1959 and spanned 52 years, the last 29 of which she spent at All Saints School in Rossford, OH teaching primarily first and second grades and the last five as the Minister of Religious Formation. In 2010 She returned to the Motherhouse, where she continues to serve as Marian Co-Director.
Franciscan Family Tradition: As a young man, Sisters’ father Francis left his home in Toledo to join the Franciscan Community in Poland where St. Maximilian Kolbe was also a member. At the onset of the Nazi occupation, St. Maximilian advised Francis to return to America. As Third Order Members, her parents were gratefully present for the canonization of St. Kolbe in October 1982.
