Her ministry in education began in 1969, teaching grades 3-8 until 1979, then serving as Principal in OH and MN until 1996. Called to Congregational Leadership, Sister served two terms, the second as Assist. Congregational Minister. She returned to MN in 2004, ministering again in education as both Teacher and as Principal until 2009. Sister joined the ministry of East Side Learning Center in St. Paul, MN as Program Director until 2020. She briefly served the Comm. of Peace Academy in St. Paul as a volunteer tutor, and currently ministers as a famiy caretaker and Franciscan presence.

A candle loses nothing of its light by lighting another candle. As a lifelong educator, this phrase resonated with Sister. When students, parents or teachers were sent to the Principal’s office, they were met with these words Sister Sharon had framed in her office to serve as a gentle reminder of the nature of the job at hand.
