Sister began teaching in 1965, serving in the Toledo area, Steubenville, OH and Garden City, MI. In 1978 she transitioned to Pastoral Ministry. Sister spent over 40 years caring for parishioners, including St. Mary’s Parish in Shadyside, OH and in Vermilion, OH, as well as over a decade in the Raleigh, NC diocese where she built the church in Fuquay-Varina.
A Graced Deception: Sister, who discerned her vocation during HS, romantically imagined it unfolding in a community in the Fiji Islands. Father Marvin had other ideas. On her application, he incorrectly indicated that she suffered from poor health. They responded with a list of doctors. Sister accepted his advice to instead seek out the Sylvania Franciscans.
