Ministries:
In 1952, Sister began teaching third grade through middle school. In 1968, she began a 12-year ministry at Gabriel Richard HS teaching religion and history. In 1988, after serving a four-year Leadership term, Sister accepted a position at St. Francis House in Boston, MA. In 1991, she opened the Peace and Justice Office for Catholic Social Ministries, in Raleigh, NC, where she served for 20 years. Recently retired from a decade as the Director of Franciscan Spirituality Experiences at the Motherhouse, Sister now serves through volunteer ministry.
“As Franciscans, we are called to share joy,” Sister says. “For me, that means connecting with others. Through each ministry – teaching, serving the homeless, parish and justice work and spirituality – my service has been about people and living the message that ‘Joy is the echo of God’s light.’
